Okonomiyaki ko Japanese pancake flour Showa Sangyo 200 g

昭和産業 お好み焼粉

Okonomiyaki pancakes made easy.

With Showa's Yakijirushi okonomiyaki flour you can easily make great okonomiyaki savory pancakes. The reason the pancakes are tasty is the flour, which is formulated to ensure that your okonomiyaki will be fluffy and springy, as they should be.

How to use:
• Add 100 g okonomiyaki flour to 100 ml water in a bowl and mix well. Add 300 g chopped cabbage (about ½ cup), 1 egg and 100 g of your favorite okonomiyaki fillings (squid, shrimp, pork, tempura pearls, beni shoga ginger, etc.)

• On a hot plate or saucepan over medium heat (200C), add a little vegetable oil before scooping out half of the okonomiyaki batter into a round shape. Cook for about 5 minutes. 4 minutes.

• Carefully turn the pancake over and cover with a lid. Let it cook for another 5 minutes.

• Remove the lid and invert again. Cook for 1 more minute. • Transfer to plates and serve with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito fish flakes and/or beni shoga ginger. • Repeat from step 2 with the rest of the okonomiyaki batter.

Ingredients: Wheat flour, sugar, salt, glucose, dried bonito powder, dried mackerel powder, yeast extract, baking powder, spices (amino acids), flavor enhancer (E621), emulsifier.

Reviews

"Nancy Hachisu is...intrepid. Outrageously creative. Intensely passionate. Committed. True and real. I urge you to cook from this book with abandon, but first read it like a memoir, chapter by chapter, and you will share in the story of a modern-day family, a totally unique and extraordinary one."
