Sayuri Nigori Junmai Sake

Hakutsuru Sayuri Nigori Sake contains selected spring water from 'Mount Rokko'. Sayuri means 'little lily', which recalls the delicate image of Japanese culture. This sake has a refreshing aroma, a naturally sweet taste and a light aftertaste.

Hakutsuru sake is the number 1 best selling sake (rice wine) company. The name Hakutsuru stands for the white crane, which can be seen as a symbol of freedom. The logo describes the crane flying freely, but the wings protecting the animal by maintaining an oval shape (dynamic sun). The idea behind it is 'Friendship forever'.

The brewery is located in Nada, which is known as an area with the best sources of sake. The two most important elements can be found here, namely high quality natural spring water, and the cold winters. It is even said that the brewers (Toji masters) with superior qualities come from this region, which is of course very important.

Reviews

"Nancy Hachisu is...intrepid. Outrageously creative. Intensely passionate. Committed. True and real. I urge you to cook from this book with abandon, but first read it like a memoir, chapter by chapter, and you will share in the story of a modern-day family, a totally unique and extraordinary one."
