Nippon Teapot / White with Gold and Silver Wire

生活 Seikatsu せいかつ

This tea item is a unique utensil on the tea table by using Kohiki (粉引 こひき) technology.

Ceramics is "the art of fire and earth". Kohiki (粉引 こひき) is a method of coating the base material with white makeup clay and applying a transparent glaze. Bringing the characteristics of "matte" and "natural" powder into food bowls, thus creating a new era of Kohiki tea items.

Our tableware and tea items collection is continuously using the Kohiki printing technique, the items are large and thick, simple and natural, black and white, impartial and unique. The slightly flawed handmade printing reflects Japan's unique aesthetics: imperfections lead to perfection.

Reviews

"Nancy Hachisu is...intrepid. Outrageously creative. Intensely passionate. Committed. True and real. I urge you to cook from this book with abandon, but first read it like a memoir, chapter by chapter, and you will share in the story of a modern-day family, a totally unique and extraordinary one."
