In the 6th year of Bunsei era, sake brewing at Kiuchi Sake Brewery was started by Kiuchi Gihei, who was a village headman in Konosu Village, Naka County, Hitachi Province.

Since then, for over 190 years, he has continued to focus on the quality of sake, and has been trying to brew genuine sake.
