Japanese Ko Keshi 

Kokeshi are traditional Japanese wooden dolls. They are handmade, have a simple torso and a large head on which a face is painted with a few strokes. Usually flowers or similar decorations are cut out and colored on the hull. A layer of wax is usually applied over it so that the dolls shine nicely. Characteristic of the Kokeshi dolls is that they have no arms or legs. Instead, the torso is crafted to look like the doll is wearing a kimono.
